He Married Another So I Accepted My Arranged Husband Chapter 14
Desmond sat calmly on the sofa beside me.
He was reading the messages over my shoulder, his brow drawing tighter with each one.
I spoke first.
“If you regret this, it’s not too late.”
“We can dissolve the marriage and the agreement between our families. The Conti Family won’t hold it against you.”
He lifted his eyes to meet mine.
“If none of it is true, why would I regret anything?”
Then he stood, walked behind me, and rested a hand lightly on my shoulder as I looked in the mirror.
“This one is beautiful.”
“It needs a necklace.”
I froze for a second, then followed his gaze to my reflection.
“I think so too.”
“Then we’ll take this one.”
He looked at the saleswoman.
“Wrap it up.”
After we left the bridal shop, he took me to a high-end jeweler and picked out a full set of jewelry to match the gown.
None of the pieces carried the Bellandi family mark. They belonged to me, and me alone.
He was patient through the entire process.
It was a completely different side of him from the man I had first met.
The distant, formidable air around him was slowly fading.
I could even joke with him a little.
Our only point of disagreement was the size of the wedding.
I wanted to keep it low-key.
He disagreed.
“This isn’t just a wedding, Indigo. It’s the event where both sides publicly confirm your position.”
“The more low-key you are, the more people will believe those rumors. They’ll think you don’t dare show your face in front of witnesses.”
I thought about it and realized he was right.
In the end, we planned a formal wedding.
The invitations went out to allies, business partners, family members from across the globe, and even my old engineering colleagues. Desmond didn’t hide me behind the Bellandi name. He put *Indigo Conti* in the most prominent place on the invitation.
