My Guardian Married My Sister But I’m His Alpha Chapter 35

“Chiara, I’m not trying to drive you away. I’m just… I’m not well. I can’t bear to lose my place in the family all over again.”

Her voice dropped to a whisper. “I don’t want the Pack thrown into chaos. If you really like Sterling, then I’ll support you. As long as you’re happy.”

After delivering her final, gut-wrenching line, she stood and gave Chiara a sad smile.

It was the same smile as always—gentle, soft, and utterly blameless.

She picked up her bag and headed for the door.

At the entrance, she paused and looked back.

“And Sterling… if you’re serious about him, I won’t stand in your way.”

“But are you sure he likes *you*? An Alpha who never takes a loss—why would he be so good to you for no reason?”

And then she was gone.

Chiara sat frozen, staring out the window at the bustling street.

Francesca was always like this.

She could say the cruelest things in the gentlest voice.

It sounded like concern. In reality, every word was a perfectly aimed blade.

Her phone vibrated.

Sterling.

*Where are you?*

Chiara replied with one word.

*Out.*

He didn’t ask any more questions. He didn’t say he was coming to get her.

As always, his words were few.

Oddly, the brevity of his message was a relief.

She didn’t want to talk to anyone right now.

She didn’t want to doubt Sterling.

But Francesca had already planted the seed of suspicion.

Chiara pushed open the café door and started walking slowly down the street.

The evening wind was sharp and cold.

When she reached a convenience store, she decided to go in for a bottle of water.

In the reflection of the glass door, she saw a figure standing behind her.

Black suit. No tie. No acting Alpha insignia.

Chiara turned.

Griffin stood under the yellow glow of a streetlamp.
