My Guardian Married My Sister But I’m His Alpha Chapter 55

After a long moment, she looked up.

“Anthony Russo is back. He landed in New York the day you did, using a Rogue masking spray to hide his scent.”

“He still wants the evidence Griffin has. Dad kept records of his embezzlement and the wolfsbane purchases.”

She paused.

“Only Griffin knows where that evidence is. Tell him to be careful.”

Chiara looked at her.

Francesca met her gaze, and for once, there was no fragility, no artifice on her face.

“I never beat you,” she said suddenly.

Chiara said nothing.

“When I was sixteen, Dad never asked him to choose between us. I lied to you.”

“All Dad said was that Griffin wasn’t worthy of being your husband.”

“And Griffin didn’t argue, because he believed it himself.”

“But he spent three years guarding Nightfall for Dad, and he spent three years blocking Anthony. We never took vows, we were never marked, and we never slept together.”

She stopped, and for the first time, Chiara saw genuine exhaustion in her eyes.

“He doesn’t owe anyone in the Moretti family a thing. The only person he owes is you. He owes you an answer.”

Then she turned and melted into the midday crowd.

The khaki trench coat vanished around the corner.

Sterling’s car was waiting at the curb.

He leaned against the door, watching her approach.

“Get in. Anthony’s men have already been to your hotel. It’s not safe. You’re staying at my place tonight.”

Chiara got into the car.

As it pulled into traffic, she took the dissolution agreement from her pocket and folded it again.

Her phone vibrated.

A photo from Griffin.

It showed a file folder labeled *Russo*.

A message followed.

*The evidence is complete. Council investigators have taken over. It ends tomorrow. Don’t go out tonight. Don’t open the door for anyone.*

Two minutes later, another message came through.

*Chiara. When this is over, I have something to tell you. This time, I won’t hide. And I won’t decide for you what you can handle.*
