The Wedding Game That Cost Him Everything Chapter 10
Tucker had come here ready for a fight, and now he couldn’t even get his words out.
“You’re going to the wedding?”
“But Isolde is missing…”
His mother cut him off.
“I know. You’ve always done things without any sense of propriety.”
“According to Moretti Family tradition, the groom can’t see the bride before the public ceremony. You can’t even wait for that?”
By the time she finished, Tucker felt an overwhelming wave of relief wash over him.
His family had actually accepted them.
“Didn’t you say before that Isolde had no Family background and knew too much, so you’d never agree?”
He still remembered those words, and they left him uneasy even now.
His mother gave him a look.
“Isolde came to see us. She really is a good girl.”
There seemed to be another meaning under her words.
But Tucker was already too relieved to think it through.
He only felt vindicated.
Anyone who met Isolde would like her.
“Your father and I both hope Sloane won’t be there tomorrow.”
“That girl only causes trouble. We finally made it possible for you to bring your wife into the Family. Don’t scare her off again.”
Tucker paused, then nodded.
Isolde didn’t like Sloane anyway.
Then Sloane could be the one inconvenienced this time.
She was his friend, and the daughter of an allied Family. She probably wouldn’t care.
