The Wedding Game That Cost Him Everything Chapter 48

The Ferraro representative’s face changed.

“That’s not what I meant.”

“Every word you just said is in the record.”

Sierra looked at him.

“Don’t rush to take it back.”

Tucker’s father tapped the table, trying to pull the meeting back to Safe Return.

But Tucker’s mother, who had not spoken until then, opened her mouth.

“That money was not transferred by Tucker after he lost his place as heir. It was not his personal initiative.”

She spoke clearly.

“The procedures were carried out by Moretti Family advisers, and we publicly confirmed it as compensation.”

Her husband looked at her coldly. “Do you know what you’re saying?”

“Yes.”

“At the time, we only wanted Isolde to leave Tucker.”

After those words landed, no one in the room said anything.

She had admitted with her own mouth that the Moretti Family had helped me not because they cared about justice.

Only because, compared to Tucker, I was easier to discard.

Tucker’s father had come to shift blame onto Safe Return, only to have his own wife expose the calculation behind what they had done.

I didn’t press.

When it was my turn to speak, I presented only three things.

The coastal rescue records from that year, Safe Return’s first policy file, and the public rulings of the three-party committee.

“None of these records appeared today just for this vote.”

“Safe Return has also never asked anyone to leave their Family.”

“We only ensure that when someone needs a hospital, shelter, or emergency relocation, they get to survive and return safely first.”

“As for where they return to, that is their own decision.”
