Speak Up Chapter 12

Speak Up Chapter 12

As we walked out of the office, I glanced back.

Holloway was slumped in her chair, her eyes hollow.

Veronica stood beside her, trembling as tears streamed down her face.

Chris was crouched in a corner, his hands over his head.

Kate turned off her camera. As she passed me, she gently patted my shoulder.

Three days later, the school announced the results over the campus broadcast.

The investigation team had moved quickly.

Jane Holloway: Terminated effective immediately for accepting gifts from a parent, abuse of authority, improper manipulation of a competition spot, and assisting a relative in framing a student.”

“All relevant materials have been transferred to the district attorney’s office.

Veronica: Removed from her position as student council vice president and placed on disciplinary probation, with a permanent mark on her school record.

Chris Thorne: Removed from his position as student council president and suspended from school.

The three students who provided false testimony received written warnings.

After the broadcast ended, the classroom was quiet for several seconds.

Wade turned his head and looked at me.

“See, Bianca? It’s over.”

I followed his gaze out the window.

A small smile touched my lips.

After school, I saw Kate’s car at the gate.

She rolled down the window and waved.

“Get in. I’m buying you pizza.”
