He Locked Me Out Now He’s Begging Me Back Chapter 28

“The property division letter. You agreed to it.”

Daniel didn’t touch the pen.

Behind him, Tessa was still crying and his mother was still loudly calling me heartless. The noise felt distant now, separated from me by a wall.

I pulled out another document and held it up in front of him.

The moment he saw the cover page, his pupils contracted.

“‘Petition to Partition Jointly Owned Property’?”

I nodded.

“You’re taking me to court to force the sale of the house?”

“Yes.”

“I won’t agree to that!”

“Then a judge can decide how the property gets divided.”

Daniel snatched the papers and slammed them down on the table.

“You’ve lost your mind. This is our home!”

“It’s the house I paid the larger share for. You’ve all been enjoying it just fine.”

I looked straight at him and said, one word at a time,

“But I don’t want to pay for this house anymore.”

He froze.

The pages he had knocked loose were spread across the table. On the top sheet, the words were impossible to miss—

*Petition to Partition*.

Daniel bent down, picked up the petition in both hands, and tore it in half.

The sound of ripping paper made the entire dining room fall silent.

In front of all his relatives, he ripped the papers into pieces and threw them at my feet.
