He Signed My Freedom Now He Wants Me Back Chapter 25

For a full month after leaving Highridge, I never once asked about the old pack.

Though the claim cancellation had already taken effect, Lucian later filed an objection with the Highridge Registry, claiming he had signed the documents without knowing what they were and demanding that my Luna authority be restored.

According to cross-territory regulations, the relevant testimony and family records were sent to the Tidewatch Registry, where I could decide whether or not to respond.

I refused reconsideration, but I did accept the sealed file.

Not because I still cared about Lucian.

But because I needed to know if he would use his Alpha authority to overturn the freedom I had already won.

The first statement in the file came from Clara, Highridge’s old housekeeper.

She said that in the first month after I left, Lucian still believed it was just a tactic to force him to pay attention to me.

He contacted my old friends and checked the household account, only to discover that I hadn’t taken a single cent from Highridge’s public funds.

The card he had left by my hospital bed had never been used.
