He Signed My Freedom Now He Wants Me Back Chapter 50
Tidewatch saw days of steady rain.
Outside Moonleaf, a car from Highridge sat parked for seven days in a row.
Lucian did not barge in again. He only stood across the street, waiting with the two children.
When Chloe noticed, she asked, “Why do those people keep staring at us?”
Elias moved to the window, blocking her view.
“Do you want me to call the patrol?”
I shook my head.
“I’ll end this one last time.”
Through the Registry, I sent Lucian a meeting place: a café near a patrol station.
When they arrived, Lucian was not wearing the formal coat that marked his Alpha status. Noah and Iris’s clothes were rumpled, and there was a deep exhaustion in their eyes.
The moment Iris saw me, she rushed forward.
I stepped aside.
“Sit down.”
Lucian swallowed.
“They’re not doing well. Without you, Noah’s wolf is unstable, and Iris cries at night.”
“I know.”
I took a kraft paper envelope out of my bag.
Inside were the children’s growth records from birth, their allergy lists, wolf development charts, their Healers’ contact information, and training precautions.
“This is enough for you to learn how to care for them.”
Lucian’s face turned white.
“I don’t want records. I want you.”
I rolled up my sleeve and showed him the scars on my arm where the guards had held me down.
“Do you remember these? You had them pin me down so wolfsbane could be forced down my throat.”
