He Scorned My Love Now He Watches My Rise Chapter 18

On the seventh day, he went back to Gray Harbor alone.

Bianca tried to intercept him at the airport.

She cried, saying everyone had blocked her, her work had been affected, and now he was the only one who could help her.

Colton walked around her and left her with a single sentence.

“Aren’t you the one who always looked down on people who rely on others?”

Bianca chased him for a few steps before stumbling and falling to the ground.

People nearby recognized her, but no one helped her up.

She had spent years using her status as the Beta’s daughter and “the one who understood the future Alpha best” to treat people with casual cruelty.

Now that Colton no longer shielded her, all those so-called friends scattered.

Later, she switched her public account to private.

There were no more pack banquets, no more designer bags, no more photos of the circle of people who had once called her Queen B.

Three years later, my assignment in Red Sand territory came to an end.

I had led my team in completing two cross-territory transport lines and secured long-term partnership rights. I had not become Luna, but I had carved out a place for myself.

The company threw me a celebration banquet. In front of everyone, the director announced my promotion.

Colton sent a box through a courier.

Inside was the watch, along with a bank check.

The amount was exactly eighteen thousand, nine hundred and sixty dollars.

The money I had paid back to him.

There was also a note in the box.

[This money should never have been accepted. I’m returning it to you.]

I closed the box and had the courier return it, untouched.

That night, the old phone I had kept even after changing numbers suddenly lit up.

A message from Colton.

[Are you back in Gray Harbor?]

I didn’t reply.

The next day, I wheeled my luggage out of Gray Harbor International Airport.

The sun fell warm on my skin, the air just right.

My new work badge identified me as Director of Cross-Territory Projects. I no longer needed Nightfall pack residency rights.

In the crowd outside the exit, Colton stood holding that box.

I saw him.

He saw me, too.

My wolf caught the familiar scent of cedar, but I never slowed my pace.

This time, I wasn’t acting.

I truly did not look back.

As I reached the company car waiting for me, my work phone buzzed.

The director had sent over the next phase of the project plan.

The two transport lines under my supervision would be extended to Gray Harbor, and the Nightfall pack had submitted a partnership application.

At the bottom of the attachment was one more document—an objection filed by Bianca.

She claimed that because of my personal history with Colton, I was unfit to work on any Nightfall pack project.

She had even included screenshots from the *How Long Can She Hold Out* group chat from three years ago.

In her version of events, those records were now proof that I was using public opinion to retaliate against her.

I stopped and tapped open the reply box.

[Requesting a public review. Submit all materials according to the original record.]

If she wanted to reopen the old books, then I would settle every last line item in front of everyone.
