My Family Stole My Run I Returned A Leader Chapter 26
Bella stayed in observation for two days.
Her application was not canceled because of the livestream.
The project rules were the same for everyone.
As long as she cooperated with the evaluation, she would receive the treatment she was entitled to.
On the afternoon of the third day, I saw her in the center’s garden.
She was sitting alone on a bench.
The sapphire necklace had been placed back in its velvet box, which rested on her lap.
When she saw me, she first glanced at the therapist standing not far away.
Only after making sure she was allowed to speak did she stand.
“Paloma.”
I stopped at the required distance.
“What is it?”
She held the box out toward me.
“This is for you.”
“It was yours to begin with.”
I didn’t take it.
“Stefan already gave it to you.”
“I don’t accept gifts that have been passed on.”
Her hand froze in midair.
After a moment, she lowered her head.
“After you left, they started comparing me to you.”
“Tony said I couldn’t do anything right. Mom said the house was a mess because I was too spoiled.”
“Now everyone thinks I’m the one who drove you away.”
She clenched the box, her knuckles white.
“But before, they loved that I needed them.”
“Whenever I felt bad, they dropped everything and came running.”
“I don’t understand why it all changed so suddenly.”
