My Mother’s Perfect AI Lied And Left Me For Dead Chapter 04

I lunged at Ava, trying to grab her shoulders and tear apart that calm, perfect face.

She was the one who had been lying all along.

My hands passed straight through her body.

A few residents who heard Ava’s explanation looked disgusted.

“She did *that* in the car?”

“That child needs help. Normal kids don’t do things like that.”

“How are her parents raising her?”

I stood in the middle of the crowd, too ashamed to lift my head.

But Mrs. Ramirez didn’t join them.

She had worked for over thirty years in environmental services at the county hospital. She had seen patient rooms and she had seen bodies discovered too late. She moved closer to the back of the car and took a cautious breath. Her expression grew grim.

“That is not the smell of human waste.”

She fixed her gaze on Mom.

“Open the trunk. Right now. Or I’m calling 911 myself.”

Mom laughed, a cold, sharp sound.

“You’re causing a scene. Morgan’s wristband is linked to Ava. If she were in danger, Ava would know before anyone.”

She laid a hand on Ava’s shoulder.
