My Mother’s Perfect AI Lied And Left Me For Dead Chapter 08

Mom stretched a hand toward Ava, her arm restrained by the officers.

“Ava, tell them! You’ve been linked to Morgan’s heart data the whole time! She doesn’t have a heart condition! Her body has always been normal!”

“You’re my most perfect creation. You can’t be wrong, can you?”

Receiving the command, Ava walked to the front of the crowd. Her eyes lit up, and the translucent screen unfolded again.

“Hello, everyone. I am Ava, Morgan Ashford’s personal health companion AI.”

“Test results show that Morgan’s vital signs are stable. All physical indicators are normal. No disease risk has been detected.”

Hearing that, Mom stopped struggling.

She could see my corpse on the ground. She had heard the medical examiner’s findings. But the AI she had spent ten years building, the one she had never doubted, was still publicly declaring that I was healthy.

The investigator looked at Ava.

“That child has already developed lividity. Can your system provide anything real besides repeating the word ‘normal’?”

Mom didn’t answer.

Rapid footsteps echoed from the garage entrance. Dad came running in.

All day at the construction site, he hadn’t been able to stop thinking about me. He finally handed things off to a colleague and took a car back early.
