After Lefting Me On The Bridge He Lost His Mind Chapter 09

“Austin? A transfer?”

Truett stared at the suitcase in Jenna’s hand, his voice rising.

“Mavis, are you crazy? We’re supposed to go to my parents’ house next month to announce our engagement. And you’re going to Texas?”

He planted himself in front of the hospital room door, his eyes red.

“I don’t approve. What about our seven years together?”

“You’re the one who never gave a damn about those seven years,” Jenna said coldly, reaching out to push him aside. “Move.”

“Jenna, this is none of your business!”

Truett grabbed my wrist, his grip hard.

“Come home with me. We’ll talk about this at home.”

Of all the places he could have grabbed, he seized the hand that had just been burned.

A muffled cry escaped my lips as pain shot up my arm. My knees buckled, and I nearly collapsed.

“Mavis!” Jenna caught me.

Truett didn’t let go. He pulled harder.

“Now what are you doing? I came to take you home. How long are you going to drag this out—”

“Truett, let go! Her hand is blistering!”
