He Cheated With My Friend My Parents Helped Chapter 15

“Sienna lost the baby, too,” he said, his words tumbling out. “This time, I swear, I’ll end things with her for good.”

He hadn’t even finished speaking when I slapped him across the face.

Gabriel’s head snapped to the side. He just stood there, stunned. I curled my stinging fingers into a fist.

“Whether you two are over or not has nothing to do with me anymore. The court order is final. We’re done.”

I turned and walked toward the building. Gabriel followed.

“Mags, do you really have to be like this? We’ve known each other for more than ten years. We were married for eight.”

I stopped.

“You think I’m hurting you? For nearly half our marriage, you were lying to me.”

“My father blinded you in one eye, and you still kept seeing her behind my back.”

“You shoved me into a doorframe to protect her. I lost our child. So tell me, Gabriel, who exactly is hurting whom?”

Gabriel’s face went white. His hands began to shake.

“It wasn’t like that. Mags, I didn’t know you were pregnant. I never, ever meant for you to get hurt.”

But time didn’t go backward. The baby wasn’t coming back.

Gabriel crouched down, burying his face in his hands. He began to sob.

I didn’t look back.

After his first betrayal, he and my parents had trapped me with blackmail.

This time, there was no one I needed to forgive him for.

As I rounded the corner into the building’s main hallway, I ran into Julian.

He was holding a bag of fruit, his expression a little awkward.

“Sorry,” he said quietly. “I didn’t mean to overhear. I was just worried he might… I wanted to make sure you were okay.”

I nodded, my throat tight.
