He Left Me Broken Now He Wants Me Back Chapter 11
I kept walking.
For several days, the theater’s front desk was inundated with flowers, fruit baskets, and iced coffees.
The delivery person would only say, “A gentleman ordered it for everyone.”
The card, written in painfully generic script, read: *The most beautiful scenery in the world can’t compare to your smile.*
I tapped my pen against my forehead, trying not to cringe.
One night, I saw Rowan’s car parked across the street from the theater and walked over.
He was slumped over the steering wheel, fast asleep.
I knocked on the window. He jerked awake, taking a few seconds to recognize me.
“Rehearsal’s over?”
“If you need to sleep, go home. Don’t fall asleep at the wheel, and don’t get in an accident outside my workplace.”
He rubbed a hand over his face.
“Two emergencies and a scheduled surgery got moved up. I’ve been on my feet for two days straight.”
He looked at me.
“I still wanted to see you.”
Then he noticed the flowers I was carrying.
“Do you like them?”
There was genuine hope in his voice.
“Who taught you this?”
“What?”
“The flowers. The coffee for the whole company. You never would have thought of this on your own.”
