The Day I Went Silent Chapter 23

The Day I Went Silent Chapter 23

Soon after, a massive scandal broke out involving the popular actress Chloe.

Tax evasion, diva behavior, providing escort services…

Photo after photo was too obscene to look at, and all of them were undeniable proof.

Her reputation took a nosedive, and she lost all the money she had earned over the years, forcing her to move out of her magnificent villa and squeeze into a cramped bungalow with others.

From time to time, she would run into extreme fans who threw eggs at her.

The media caught her on camera looking utterly disheveled as she barged into the Vance Group building, screaming and shouting to see Julian, claiming she was Oliver’s mother.

Julian refused to see her and simply had someone drag her away.

In the video footage, Oliver stood behind the bodyguards, quietly watching Chloe.

There was longing and reluctance in his eyes, but in the end, he didn’t rush out to protect his mother.

When Olivia found out, she found it completely unbelievable.

Didn’t Julian treasure Chloe? Didn’t Oliver love his mother? How could they let Chloe fall into such a miserable state?

But Chloe deserved it; she had actually done all those things, and now they were just being exposed.

Olivia put down her phone, unwilling to think about these things anymore.

But Eleanor walked into her room, looking somewhat haggard. “Olivia, you need to leave quickly and go back to your studies. Take a flight tonight…”

Olivia’s brow twitched as she realized something was wrong. She held Eleanor’s hand: “What’s going on?”

“Julian has gone mad.”

Eleanor sighed, “He wants to cut off all cooperation with the Sterlings. It’s a lose-lose move that hurts him just as much… but he doesn’t care.”

“If you stay here, there’s no telling what he might do. It’s better if you go hide for a while.”

Olivia’s heart tightened.

She patiently comforted Eleanor, persuaded her to go back to sleep, and then made a call to Julian.

“Julian, are you crazy? It wasn’t easy for the Vances to get to where they are today. Are you going to ruin it all?”

There was a moment of silence on the other end, followed by a soft chuckle.

Julian’s voice was low and hoarse: “Olivia, I don’t care.”

“If you don’t even care about the Vances, what do you care about?”

“I care about you.”

Olivia choked on her words.

If he had said this just a few months earlier, Olivia would have been moved to tears, forgetting all her past grievances to stay with Julian.

But now, it was too late. Everything was just too late.

Olivia took a deep breath: “Just say it. What do you want? What will it take for you to let the Sterlings go?”

The Sterlings were considered an old rich and powerful family, but they still couldn’t compare to a behemoth like the Vances.

Julian’s madness would at most severely damage the Vances’ vitality, but for the Sterlings, it could be a devastating disaster.

“Olivia, don’t be so angry. I’ve already been very patient.”

On the other end of the phone, Julian spoke slowly and methodically, “I just want you to come back to me.”

“Oliver misses you very much… and so do I.”

Addison had been sent away.

Oliver had apologized.

Even Chloe had gotten her retribution.

Julian felt he had shown enough sincerity. He didn’t want to keep coaxing Olivia anymore and finally bared his fangs.

He was going to force Olivia to come back to him.
