She Stole My Fiancé So I Married The Prince Chapter 09
Even so, he adapted with startling speed. Every day he cooked for himself, shoveled snow, repaired heating equipment, and sometimes even split extra firewood for Grandma Maeve.
Whenever the townspeople asked who he was, he always said he was the fiancé I had brought back from the capital.
I corrected him a few times to no effect, and eventually I just gave up.
I joined the Northreach border command center, taking charge of training horses for the mountain patrol and rescue teams.
After blizzards, some of the ravines became impassable to vehicles, and horses were still the fastest way to search for missing Pack members. My experience quickly proved useful, and Prince Rowan began helping with the reconstruction of the border defenses as well.
When winter came, a package from the capital arrived at Grandma Maeve’s house.
Inside were a letter and two heavy coats.
My father’s portion of the letter was a lecture about how I didn’t know what was good for me—for refusing the life of an Alpha’s daughter and choosing instead to suffer on the border with a fallen prince.
My mother reminded me that Northreach was cold and told me to take care of myself. She said she had personally chosen both coats and that they should be enough to get me through the harsh winter.
At the end of the letter, she wrote the date of Isabella and Adrian’s wedding.
She wanted me to return to the capital and publicly bless them, to silence all the talk about Isabella stealing my engagement.
