He Put His Ex First So I Found My True Mate Chapter 11

Over the next few days, Graham showed up at the apartment building where I was staying. Every single day.

The apartment was in Cedar Ridge territory. Graham was not on the visitor list, so every time he walked into the lobby, building security stopped him.

From the twelfth-floor window of a friend’s place, I watched him go from angry to agitated to, finally, being repeatedly escorted back outside.

On the first day, he leaned into the intercom and ordered, “Mara, come downstairs. We need to talk.”

“You canceled the partnership ceremony, and now you want to sell the house. If you come back now, I won’t hold it against you. We can still have the ceremony.”

As if he were the one generously forgiving me.

On the second day, he brought the obsidian courtship ring.

“Mara, stop this. Blair already agreed to give the ocean-view master back to you. Isn’t that enough?”

The room I had paid the deposit for, the room they had taken from me as a prize, was now being offered back as some grand gesture of generosity.

On the third day, my friend told security to notify territorial patrol directly.

That was when Graham finally lost his patience.

He shoved a guard aside and tried to force his way into the elevator.

Two security officers seized him by the arms and dragged him out of the lobby.

Twisting around, he shouted up toward the twelfth floor, “So what, you’re still mad you didn’t get to be in that stupid competition? Fine! From now on, every family event can be about you. Will that finally make you happy?”

Behind the glass, I almost laughed.

Even now, he still thought what I wanted was a place in the competition, the ocean-view suite, and his magnanimous forgiveness.

He still didn’t understand that the rules had changed.

It wasn’t him rejecting me anymore.

It was me rejecting him.
