I Survived My Father’s Test And Took His Throne Chapter 06
On our birthdays, I received heir training plans. Evelyn received gowns, sports cars, and more jewelry than she could count.
My father almost never refused any request she made.
As for me, he always said the same thing: “You’ll rule the kingdom one day. You must take care of your sister.”
So I learned to give way from an early age.
If Evelyn liked something, I gave it to her.
If she wanted my collections or my room, I gave those to her, too.
My father always thought I was a child without wants. I never acted spoiled, and I never asked him for anything.

Evelyn woke with a start.

“Evelyn, this ends here.”
She understood at once. He intended to end my punishment early.
She frowned.
“But we agreed to wait until my birthday.”
“There are only a few days left. It makes no difference.” My father sounded exhausted. “I’m going to restore Laurel’s status at the birthday banquet. She needs time to heal and prepare for her public reappearance.”
Displeasure flashed in Evelyn’s eyes, but she quickly smiled again.
“All right. Then tell Sister the truth today. But you have to make it up to me. I want that blue diamond that’s up for auction.”
“I’ll buy it for you.”
After soothing her, my father returned to my old quarters.
He was still wearing the mask, trying to figure out how to explain things so I wouldn’t resist too fiercely.
He had always considered me sensible.
As long as he explained that this had all been a trial for the heir, I would surely understand.
But when he pushed open the hospital room door, the heavy stench of blood hit him.
My father froze in the doorway.
