The Annoying Sleepwalker Chapter 07

The Annoying Sleepwalker Chapter 07

“Y-yes, I’m sorry. I really can’t control it.”

“Please don’t push me. I’m scared, too.”

Tessa was so angry her eyes were red.

“You’re scared? What about my iPad?”

“It has all my law school application materials on it!”

Mallory was even more direct.

“Don’t you dare try the pathetic act with me. Pay up.”

Blair stared at them in disbelief.

Yesterday, these were the very same people who had gathered around her, telling her it was okay.

Today, their attitudes had completely changed.

She panicked.

“But didn’t you say sleepwalking isn’t intentional?”

Tessa’s lips moved, but no sound came out.

Mallory gritted her teeth.

“Accident or not, you still have to pay.”

“You don’t just get to break someone’s things and not pay for them.”

I almost laughed.

Funny how she hadn’t said that yesterday.

At three in the morning, Genevieve was called over.

She came in wearing a coat over her pajamas, her face grim.

The second she saw the Canon camera on the floor, she froze.

“Is that the floor camera?”

I nodded.

“Yes. The one you lent me.”

“Blair smashed it in her sleep.”

“The lens is damaged. The tripod is cracked, too.”

Genevieve crouched down to inspect it, her voice tight with anger.

“Blair, you have to pay for this.”

“This is school equipment, not my personal property.”

Blair started crying again.

“Genevieve, I really was sleepwalking.”

“I couldn’t control—”

I looked at Genevieve and said softly, “Genevieve, weren’t you the one who said we should try to handle it in the room first?”

“And not report it to the student life office?”

The color drained from Genevieve’s face.

Tessa sat clutching her iPad, silent.

Mallory was already cursing under her breath while pulling up her Amazon order history.

“What a nightmare.”
