I Married His Enemy The Day He Married His Mistress Chapter 06
The Bride Speaks
Adrian’s eyes snapped to me. “Sienna, say something!”
His voice was hoarse. Desperate. His hand holding the gun was shaking now.
I looked down at Leo in my arms. He had buried his face against my neck, small fingers gripping my collar tight. I stroked his back gently, pressed a kiss to the top of his head, then lifted my gaze to Adrian.
My voice came out flat. Cold.
“Adrian. From the moment you chose to secretly marry her, we were done.”
The color drained from his face. He swayed on his feet, like someone had cut the strings holding him up. The gun in his hand dropped an inch.
For a long second, he just stood there, staring at me like he couldn’t understand the words coming out of my mouth.
Lucian laughed softly beside me. Low, unhurried. “I should be thanking you, Shaw. For giving me this chance.” His tone shifted, all warmth gone. “Since you’re clearly not here for the wedding, I suggest you leave. Now.”
Every gun swung toward Adrian. The air reeked of gunpowder waiting to happen.
Adrian’s knuckles went white around his pistol. He took a step forward, ignoring the dozen barrels aimed at his chest. His eyes were only on me.
“Sienna, you’re still angry, right? This is you punishing me? I get it. I messed up. But think about it! These three years, I was out there bleeding for you and our son! Every scar on my body is for this family! I swear, everything I feel for you is real!”
I looked at him. Not a ripple in my chest. Not anymore.
“Adrian. Who you’re real with, I know better than anyone.” My voice didn’t waver. “You think I’m that easy to fool? War orphan? Little sister? Don’t insult me.” I shifted Leo higher. “And a birthday party as cover for your little secret wedding? Very clever. I’ll give you that.”
His face twisted. He opened his mouth to argue.
I didn’t let him.
“I’ll say this one last time. Today, you still have a chance to walk away. Show up in front of me again after this, and I won’t give you another.”
His lips trembled. The blood left his face entirely. His voice cracked like glass. “Sienna… what are you saying? Stop joking… You don’t mean that. You can’t…”
Lucian cut him off. His voice dropped to ice. “My wife doesn’t joke.” He stepped forward, positioning himself half in front of me. His eyes held nothing but cold, measured threat. “You should go, Shaw. While you still can.”
Adrian’s jaw clenched so hard I could see the veins in his neck. His fist tightened around the gun. He wanted to fight. Every muscle in his body screamed it.
But he was alone. Outgunned. Outnumbered.
He knew it. And knowing it was killing him.
He forced himself to turn away. His steps were stiff. Mechanical. Like his body was moving against his will.
Then his phone rang.
He froze. Pulled it out. Answered.
I watched his back as he listened. His spine straightened. His shoulders squared. When he hung up, he turned back to face me. That old arrogance had crept back into his expression, fragile and desperate, but there.
“Sienna. My men are already outside. They’re here to take you and Leo home with me. Let’s go.”
