I Married His Enemy The Day He Married His Mistress Chapter 07

The Wedding

I looked at him, not a trace of warmth in my eyes. “Adrian, you think your men can make it in here alive?”

His expression changed. “Sienna, what do you mean?”

I smiled. Said nothing. Just raised my hand slightly, signaling Lucian’s guards.

Panic flashed in Adrian’s eyes. He pulled his gun.

Outside, footsteps erupted.

Then gunfire.

Shouts and chaos were crashing together beyond the walls.

Adrian stumbled back under the sudden assault, shock and disbelief twisting his face. “Sienna… you really don’t care anymore? Not even a little?”

I held Leo tight. My voice was steady and cold. “Adrian, you saved me three times. This time, I’m letting you walk away. Consider it… repayment. After today, we’re strangers.”

Lucian stepped forward. “You heard her, Shaw. The Locke soldiers are all on the West Side now. That handful you brought won’t last ten minutes. Leave now, or I change my mind and you don’t leave at all.”

Adrian’s body went rigid. He wanted to argue.

But he knew what would happen.

He took a long breath.

Something savage flickered behind his eyes, but he forced it down.

He looked at me. One long, burning look.

“Fine. I’ll go. But Sienna, if you think you can cut me off, you’re dreaming. I WILL come back. And Vale, if you lay a hand on her or my son, I will take your life with my own hands.”

He turned and disappeared into the chaos.

I watched him go without sadness or anger.

Lucian walked over and draped his jacket across my shoulders. His voice was low. “A man like that isn’t worth a second of your time. Come on. Our wedding should start.”

I nodded but didn’t move.

He stopped. Turned back. “What’s wrong? Don’t you like the arrangements? Or do you think the dowry’s too small?”

He smiled and leaned closer. “Or is it that you can’t bear to let him go?”

“No,” I said.

He leaned in another inch. “Then what?”

I took a breath and looked at him in the eye. “I just think it’s… all happening too fast. And you know this is a deal between us. You don’t have to take it too seriously.”

Something flickered in his gaze. Surprise, maybe.

Then his lips curved into a quiet smile. “Marriage is a lifetime. I don’t make deals in things that last a lifetime.” He held my eyes. “What if I told you I’m serious?”

Serious?

I didn’t believe him.

If he really wanted me, why had he spent all those years going after the Locke Family?

I looked away. “Don’t joke around. Adrian won’t let this go. You know that.”

Lucian took my hand. His voice dropped low. “Everything’s already taken care of. Today, all you need to do is be my bride. Nothing else matters.”

I looked at the sincerity in his eyes. Something warm stirred in my chest. Something I hadn’t felt in a long time.

My whole life, I’d been surrounded by danger. All I ever wanted was stability. Safety.

This man in front of me, ruthless and cold-blooded as he was, always seemed to go soft at the exact moment I was about to break.

I nodded.

His eyes lit up. He took my hand and led me inside.

The ceremony was simple. Solemn. In front of the Vale family’s witnesses, we became husband and wife.

I married him as the sole heir of the Locke Family, with every Locke resource as my dowry.

From that day forward, East Side and West Side. Vale and Locke. Bound together.
