Drain My Mafia Husband Dry With His Seven Mistresses Chapter 08

The Fall

‘The Family is about to collapse.’

Those words hit Dominic like a bat to the skull. His ears rang.

Back when he was young and cocky, he’d said “just let them go broke” about other people’s empires a thousand times.

Never once did he think those words would apply to his own.

The Greyson empire. A hundred years of legacy. The most powerful Family in the city. How could it all crumble overnight?

Dominic dropped everything and drove to the office. What he found there finished him off.

Just like the estate, the place was dead. Silent. The hallways that used to buzz with activity were empty. Almost everyone had resigned. People who’d worked for him for over a decade. His driver. His assistant. Gone.

The desk was buried under a mountain of paperwork. Resignation letters stacked on top of unpaid bills.

“How is this possible? Where is everyone? Scarlett and Natasha ran this company together. Where are they? The company’s been bleeding out and nobody thought to tell me?”

A remaining employee, packing up her desk, muttered without looking up. “Ms. Voss brought it up with you many times, sir. Every time, you told her you were busy with Ms. Sutton and to stop bothering you.”

Dominic sank into the couch.

She was right. Scarlett had warned him. The senior Capos had warned him. He never listened. Not once.

To Dominic, the Greyson fortune was bottomless. It would never run dry.

Just like Scarlett would never leave.

But now, the money was gone. And so was Scarlett.

A man born with everything had lost it all in a single night.

Two lines of tears slid down his face. He swept the documents off the desk with one violent arm. “Find Scarlett. I don’t care what it takes. I don’t care what it costs. Bring her back to me. Grandpa told me before he died. He said Scarlett wasn’t an ordinary woman. He said as long as she’s here, the Family will never fall. As long as she’s here…”

His voice cracked. “My heart won’t hurt like this.”

Mia couldn’t stand watching him fall apart over another woman. She grabbed his hand. “Dom, you still have me. I can do everything Scarlett did. Let’s get married. I’ll be the perfect wife. I’ll turn things around for you. You won’t have to worry about anything ever again.”

Dominic slowly pulled his hand free.

He looked at her. Cold. Expressionless. “What makes you think you can compare to Scarlett?”

When Scarlett was here, Dominic never had to think about a single thing. He could spend his days having fun, chasing thrills, living like a king. No matter how badly he screwed up, Scarlett fixed it.

He could whisper sweet nothings to pretty girls. Let them play wife for a few days. It was all a game.

But no matter how far he went, Dominic always knew the truth. Deep down, in a place he never let anyone see.

Scarlett was irreplaceable.

Pretty girls came and went like wildflowers. A new season, a new bloom. One after another after another.

But Scarlett. The woman who grew up beside him. Who carried his world on her shoulders without ever asking for thanks.

There was only one of her. In this life or any other.

“Get out,” he said to Mia. No emotion. No warmth. “Don’t ever show your face in front of me again. I may be broke, but I still have enough pull to destroy you if I want to.”

Mia clung to him. Begged. Pleaded.

Until she finally realized the Greyson empire had truly collapsed.

Then she moved fast.

She took whatever scraps Dominic had left. Vanished overnight without a trace.

Dominic didn’t even notice. Didn’t care.

Because he’d finally found out where Scarlett was.

He was about to go to her when the last person he expected walked through the door.
