Drain My Mafia Husband Dry With His Seven Mistresses Chapter 09
The Truth
Marcus was Dominic’s last safety net.
The Consigliere of the Greyson Family. Dominic’s uncle by blood. The Old Don’s most trusted man.
He placed an agreement in front of Dominic.
“Scarlett signed this before she left. She set aside enough money for you to live comfortably for the rest of your life. The only condition is that you never appear in front of her again. If you break that condition, the agreement is void, and you get nothing.”
Dominic didn’t hesitate for even a second. He tore the agreement to shreds.
“I only want Scarlett.”
…
Marcus knew his nephew’s stubbornness. So he came to me and told me everything.
He gave up the last chance to save himself. Chose bankruptcy over never seeing me again.
I was in the middle of a poker game when he finished talking. I shoved the tiles over. “Not in the mood anymore.”
Ruby protested. “You can’t just quit!”
The others were smarter.
The second they heard Dominic was coming, they found excuses and scattered.
By the time I looked up, he was already there.
Dominic stared at my villa. The sprawling estate. The luxury that rivaled what the Greyson compound used to be.
His mouth hung open for a long time before he finally managed, “Scarlett, I had no idea you were this… incredible.”
“And I had no idea you’d be shameless enough to show up here.” I crossed my arms and stared at him.
My coldness might have cut him. He stood there struggling with himself for a long while before choking out, “Why? Why did you do this to me?”
Looking at his hollow face, his sunken eyes, I felt something shift.
A flash of something old.
Memories I’d buried deep.
My family and the Greysons went back generations.
After my parents died, I was taken in by the Old Don. Raised in the Greyson household.
In that house that was never truly mine, Dominic gave me everything. All his love. All his attention.
He’d hold me during thunderstorms and tell me stories until I fell asleep.
He’d pick the most beautiful roses from the garden and put them by my bed.
He’d cup my face in his hands and tell me I was the only woman he’d ever love.
Back then, stupid and young, I believed I’d found my soulmate. I gave him my whole heart. Every piece of it.
But then.
I closed my eyes. Let out a long breath. “I’ll tell you the truth. But after you hear it, don’t come looking for me again.”
In my past life, the year I loved Dominic the most was the year I found out he was cheating.
I couldn’t handle it.
I slit my wrists.
They rushed me to the hospital.
Dominic knelt by my bed and swore he’d change.
Before I was even discharged, he’d fallen for my nurse. Elena. Number Three.
The Greyson elders told me to have a baby. A child would tie Dominic down, they said.
Back then, I had no one else. The Greysons were the only family I had. Dominic was my only anchor.
I knew about his betrayal. I knew he’d never stop. But I couldn’t bring myself to leave.
So after thinking it over, I gave in.
