I Was The Fake Heiress—Then Found Real Heir Was My Ex Chapter 12

The Board

Thomas made his move at the next Ashford Holdings board meeting.

He argued that I had no blood claim to the company.

Several older directors agreed.

By the time I entered the boardroom, the vote was almost decided.

Then Simon walked in.

Thomas smiled.

Finally.

The real heir.

He assumed Simon had come to take my place.

He was wrong.

Simon dropped a folder onto the table.

Inside were bank transfers, hospital records, witness statements, and the administrator’s signed confession.

Thomas’s face changed.

Simon took the empty chair beside me.

One director cleared his throat.

“Mr. Vale, as the biological Ashford heir, how do you vote?”

Simon looked at me.

“My vote goes to Daphne Ashford.”

Thomas stood.

“You don’t have enough shares to decide this.”

Simon leaned back.

“Vale Capital acquired another nine percent this morning.”

The room went silent.

Thomas’s mouth opened.

Nothing came out.

The vote passed.

I stayed.

Thomas didn’t.

The evidence was handed to the authorities that afternoon.

Within weeks, he was charged with fraud, bribery, conspiracy, and falsifying medical records.

His Ashford trusts were frozen pending trial.

The family removed him from every board and foundation bearing our name.

The man who had spent twenty-two years trying to steal the Ashford inheritance lost access to all of it.

For the first time, I thought that felt fair.
