I Was The Fake Heiress—Then Found Real Heir Was My Ex Chapter 13
Just Me
After everything ended, my father offered Simon the Ashford name.
“You can change it legally,” he said. “Simon Ashford.”
Simon shook his head.
“Vale is my name.”
My father looked disappointed but nodded.
Then Simon looked at me.
“And Daphne is keeping hers.”
No one argued.
A month later, Simon took me back to the racing track where everything between us had started.
We raced.
I won.
Barely.
When I got out of the car, Simon was already waiting.
There was a ring in his hand.
I stopped.
“Again?”
“Yes.”
“Do you ever learn?”
“No.”
He stepped closer.
This time there was no contract.
No share transfer.
No family lawyer hiding nearby.
Simon held out the ring.
“No company.”
I looked at him.
“No inheritance.”
He took my hand.
“No deal.”
His voice softened.
“Just me.”
Then he asked,
“Still interested?”
I made him wait three seconds.
His face started to fall.
I held out my hand.
“Put the ring on before I change my mind.”
Simon moved so fast I laughed.
The ring slid onto my finger.
Then he kissed me.
When he pulled back, he looked too pleased with himself.
That made me suspicious.
“What?”
“Nothing.”
“Simon.”
He hesitated.
“There is one more thing.”
I narrowed my eyes.
“What did you do?”
“I transferred twenty percent of Vale Capital into a trust for you.”
I stared at him.
“Simon.”
“It seemed romantic.”
“SIMON.”
He started laughing before I could hit him.
I chased him across the track in heels.
And for the first time in a long time, I didn’t care which family I had been born into.
I knew exactly who I was.
Daphne Ashford.
And somehow, against all common sense,
Simon Vale was still my problem.
This time, I planned to keep him.
