I Survived His Enemies But Not His Love For Another Woman Chapter 08

I’m sitting in the dark. Three screens glowing in front of me. Real-time feeds. Money trails. Every dirty move every family in this city is making right now, scrolling across my monitors like a ticker tape of sins.

Tessa’s leg is still messed up but she doesn’t care. She’s parked at the desk next to me, fingers flying. Best hacker I’ve ever seen and loyal enough to bleed for me. That’s all I need right now.

“Boss.” She doesn’t look up. Just pulls a file onto the main screen. “Loren family. Every illegal deal they’ve touched in the last three months. All connected. All documented. Ready to send.” She keeps typing. “Also. That waterfront property Corsetti’s been trying to lock down? Our shell company’s already in the bid. One word from you and it’s ours.”

I make a sound. My eyes slide to the other screen.

There’s a surveillance photo of Dominic from yesterday. He looks like absolute shit. Skinny. Pale. Dark circles so bad he looks sick. Still searching. Still tearing through every borough trying to find me.

Good. Suffer.

“Don’t touch Corsetti yet.” My voice is flat. Nothing in it. “The Loren evidence. Drop it on their biggest enemy’s doorstep. No return address.” I pause. “And those men from the warehouse. The ones who are still alive. The ones Dominic missed. I want them found. Especially the one who filmed it.”

I tap my finger on the desk. Slow.

“When you find them, don’t bring them to me. I don’t need to see their faces. Take them to that private lounge Mia goes to. The VIP room. Her name is on the membership. And then you do to them exactly what they were planning to do to me.” I look at Tessa. “Film everything. Make it clear. Make it pretty.”

Tessa’s mouth curls. Cold satisfaction in her eyes. “Got it, boss.”

Three days later, a video drops.

It spreads through the darkest, most exclusive circles in the city like wildfire.

The men in it are the warehouse crew. The ones who held me down. The ones who sliced my face open. The ones who were going to rape me and kill me and dump my body.

And Mia Loren. Drugged. Barely conscious. In her own VIP room at her own private club, her membership card practically framed on the wall behind her.

All of them. Together. Every second filmed in perfect, crisp, undeniable detail.

That same night, Mia’s father destroys his office. Puts his fist through a painting worth more than most houses.

The Loren family starts dying. Stock crashes. Partners vanish overnight. Banks calling in every debt. Dominoes falling so fast they can’t catch a single one.

Mia runs to Dominic’s compound. Screaming. Sobbing. Pounding on the gate.

“DOM! Dom please let me in! That video is a setup! Sera did this! She’s framing me! PLEASE!”

Howling outside his walls like a stray nobody wants.

Inside, Dominic sits alone. Watching the video on his laptop. Next to it, a file his people put together. Proof. Real proof. That Mia was behind everything. The video at the sit-down. The knife to her own face. The orders at the warehouse. All of it. Her.

His voice comes out barely above a breath.

“Don’t let her off. Make her understand what it costs to cross me.”

In his other hand, he’s holding a ring. Turning it over and over. The one he gave me. Found in the blood on the warehouse floor.

What was he doing that day? While I was on that concrete getting carved up?

He was carrying her to a hospital.
