The Man I Couldn’t Escape Chapter 08

Rayden’s smile faded, and his voice suddenly turned cold.

“Where is Leila? Who are you?”

“Where did you take her!”

Terrance didn’t respond. He lowered his eyes and let out a cold laugh, then strode forward without another word, swinging his fist and landing it hard on Rayden’s face.

“You think you’re worthy of saying Leila’s name? You have the nerve to ask me where she is? Have you already forgotten what you did to her in just a few days?!”

Rayden staggered back two steps, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, straightened up, and grabbed Terrance by the collar. “Where is Leila?”

Terrance tore his hand away. “You don’t deserve to know!”

At that moment, the assistant came running over, barely able to catch his breath as he hurriedly spoke, “Mr. Weber, when we were removing the trending topics, we discovered that the posted address had been hacked. We checked…”

“…it was Mrs. Weber who hired someone… to access it.”

Rayden’s back suddenly tensed, and his breath caught in his throat.

“Leila…” he said hoarsely, “When did you find out?”

“The access date shows it was about a month ago.”

Seeing Rayden’s stunned expression, Terrance curled his lips in a cold, mocking sneer. “Are you actually afraid that Leila knows?”

“She was nothing but a tool for Mr. Weber, was she really worth it to you, Mr. Weber?”

With a sarcastic laugh, Terrance walked past Rayden without looking at him and turned on the microphone.

A conversation played clearly from his phone for everyone to hear. “…Rayden, if we do it today, will my photos end up on the trending topics?”

The woman’s bitter, mocking voice abruptly stopped, and the man’s calm, indifferent tone followed. “I put in all this effort to take care of her, not out of charity.”

Terrance put away his phone and looked around, letting out a deep breath.

“My sister never wanted to clarify anything, but I’m her brother. Now that I know how much she’s suffered, there’s no way I can just stand by and do nothing.”

“You all heard it. My sister has been innocent from the very beginning. She never stole anything, and her private life was never a mess.”

“It was Rayden, who, just to spite his ex-girlfriend, used my sister again and again. For three years, she was hospitalized hundreds of times, and without her knowledge, those videos were secretly recorded…”

“In all of this, my sister did nothing wrong!”

He threw down the microphone and turned to leave the crowd.

But Natasha suddenly appeared out of nowhere, blocking his way. She raised her chin and sneered, “Just because you say so, it must be true? Who knows if your audio is fake? I’m telling you, Lorelei is nothing but a slut! She even dreams of stealing my boyfriend!”

Terrance stopped in his tracks, his eyes suddenly growing darker.

After a few seconds, he suddenly smiled.

He turned around and looked back at Rayden.

“Almost forgot, you are, after all, my former brother-in-law. It’s our first meeting, I can’t be rude. I should give you a gift.”

“Snap!” No sooner had he finished speaking.

A projection suddenly appeared on the mall’s big screen.

In a hotel abroad, Natasha was straddling a man. “Darling, of course you’re the only one I love.”

“Rayden? Compared to you, he means nothing to me. Otherwise, would I have left him and come here to see you?”

The sound of rhythmic, intimate movements echoed along with Natasha’s short cries. “Honey, honey, mm… faster.”

The scene shifted. On a rooftop, the woman’s face hidden in the darkness, two masked men—one tall, one short—took money from her hand.

“This is the deposit. After it’s done, you’ll get ten times more. It doesn’t matter if the rope is a little loose. If she dares to steal my man, that bitch deserves to die!”

Natasha went wild, lunging at Terrance and grabbing his neck. “It’s fake! All of it is fake! Turn it off now! Turn it off!”

Terrance flung her off with one motion, letting out a cold laugh.

“Why are you in such a hurry? I’ve already given the video to the police anyway. You might as well wait patiently—they’ll prove whether it’s fake or not. When you dared to do these things to my sister, you should have known this day would come!”

Natasha twisted her ankle and fell to the ground.

But she couldn’t care about that now. She scrambled up, eyes red, and ran toward Rayden. “I don’t care if others don’t believe me, Ray, Ray, you have to believe me, it’s all fake…”

Rayden laughed, his dark eyes burning with rage. He pulled his hand away and wiped it clean in utter disgust.

“Natasha, do you still think you can treat me like a fool!”

At his signal, the bodyguards stepped forward and grabbed her, one on each side.

“What are you doing! Have you forgotten your job!”

“Try shouting one more time!” Rayden suddenly said coldly, then turned to the bodyguards. “Take her to the police station and wait for the results!”

The bodyguards restrained Natasha and forced her into the car.

After a moment, Rayden unclenched his fist and turned around.

“Terry, Leila, in the end…”

His hoarse, broken voice suddenly stopped.

Terrance had disappeared at some point.

That was the only “clue” he had to find Lorelei!
