My Assassin Husband Pointed His Gun At The Mafia Queen Chapter 04

He Uses Our Daughter to Take My Empire

Adrian locks Ellie and me in an underground holding cell.

For seven days, nobody comes except to bring water and ration bars.

Ellie stays close to me.

“Mommy, why did Uncle Marcus betray us?”

I look at the steel door.

“I don’t know.”

She lowers her head.

“Is Daddy really going to let us stay here?”

I pull her into my arms.

“He won’t keep us here forever.”

“How do you know?”

“Because he wants something.”

Adrian has spent years beside me.

He knows killing me won’t automatically put the Vale Mafia in his hands.

The Vale Mafia isn’t a house he can inherit just because he gets rid of its owner.

He needs my authority, my accounts, and my signatures.

And most of all, he needs the people outside this compound to believe I handed everything over willingly.

So I wait.

On the eighth day, the door finally opens.

Adrian walks in first, Vanessa follows him and Marcus comes last.

Adrian tosses a folder onto the table.

“Sign it.”

I don’t touch it.

“What is it?”

“You know what it is.”

I open the folder.

Control transfer papers.

Once signed, Adrian gets legal control of every legitimate company tied to the Vale Mafia, along with access to the accounts and assets that keep the organization running.

I close the folder.

“No.”

Adrian slams his hand against the table.

“Enough.”

Ellie flinches.

I pull her closer.

Adrian points at the papers.

“Sign them, and this ends.”

“This?”

“You walk away.”

I almost laugh.

“With what?”

“Enough money to disappear.”

“And Ellie?”

“She goes with you.”

Vanessa immediately turns to him.

“Adrian—”

“Stay out of it.”

She goes quiet.

I study him.

He still thinks he’s being generous.

He takes my empire, my home, my people, and everything I built, then lets me leave with my own daughter.

“No.”

“I’ve given you eight days to think.”

“I didn’t need eight seconds.”

He steps closer.

“Don’t make this harder than it has to be.”

“You already made your choice.”

He reaches for his gun.

Ellie grips my hand.

Adrian pulls her away from me.

“Daddy!”

I stand.

“Let her go.”

Two men immediately grab my arms.

Ellie struggles as Adrian drags her across the room.

“Mommy!”

“Adrian.”

He turns and presses the gun against Ellie’s head.

The room goes silent.

Vanessa’s eyes widen.

Even Marcus looks at him.

Ellie freezes.

“Daddy?”

Adrian doesn’t look at her.

He looks at me.

“Sign.”

I stare at the gun against my daughter’s head.

“You’re threatening your own child.”

“I’m giving you a choice.”

“No. You’re showing me exactly what you are.”

“Sign the damn papers.”

I don’t move.

Ellie’s lips tremble.

“Mommy…”

I keep my eyes on Adrian.

“Put the gun down.”

“Sign.”

“No.”

His finger moves toward the trigger.

“Serena, I’m not playing with you.”

Neither am I.

He starts counting.

“Three.”

Vanessa watches me.

Marcus says nothing.

“Two.”

Ellie squeezes her eyes shut.

Adrian stares at me, waiting for me to break.

I don’t.

“One.”

The gun goes off.

Ellie screams.

A body crashes to the floor.

I straighten slowly.

Then I look at my husband.

“Adrian.”

“It’s time to wake up.”
