The Alpha’s Daughter Chapter 07

The Alpha’s Daughter Chapter 07

On the day Lucian left the Northlands, I went to see him off.

The once-glorious Greymark Pack had all become prisoners.

His mother, weeping with age and grief, knelt before me and begged.

“Miss Blackwood, please plead with Alpha Rowan. Lucian is your fiance. You liked him, didn’t you? Please ask the Alpha to show mercy.”

Lucian watched his mother on her knees begging me. His eyes reddened.

He lifted his head and looked at me. The arrogance he once had was gone. His voice trembled.

“Aurora, all of this was a misunderstanding. Can you help me explain it to the Alpha? My mother is old. How is she supposed to survive this?”

I looked at him and suddenly laughed.

“Lucian Greymark, sometimes I really cannot understand you. I am the daughter of the Blackwood Pack, and you are only the heir of a vassal pack. Yet just because I liked you, you dared humiliate me like that.”

“Other than my affection, what did you ever have to rely on? What are you?”

I leaned close to his ear and spoke softly.

“Everything that is happening now, you brought on yourself. Your brilliant future, your parents’ peaceful old age, all of it is gone because of your stupidity. From now on, you are no longer the glorious Greymark heir. You are a prisoner abandoned by the Blackwood Pack. You are the sinner who destroyed your entire pack.”

“Oh, and you may not know this yet. The Greymark main branch has already removed you from the pack registry.”

Lucian trembled violently, his face white.

“No. No…”

I straightened and smiled brightly.

“You fool.”

Then I turned and left.

Behind me came Lucian’s hoarse, blood-choked scream.

“No!”

When I returned to the territory, the maid beside me reported carefully, “Miss Blackwood, Selene was taken.”

“They say Cassian rescued her himself.”

Cassian Nightbane.

I closed my eyes.

He was the third important male character to appear so far, and the true central male character of this novel world.

Compared with the first two, Cassian was the truly ruthless one.

He was the heir of the Nightbane Pack.

After the Nightbanes lost a war, they had no choice but to bow to the Blackwood Pack. To secure a ceasefire, Cassian was sent alone to the Blackwood Pack as a hostage when he was only nine years old. He stayed for sixteen years.

Alpha Rowan kept him on the territory, claiming he was treated the same as his own pups. In truth, Cassian was under house arrest.

The maids on the territory knew the Alpha would never like him, so they bullied him on purpose. Sometimes they even withheld food and water.

The heroine pitied him. She secretly sent him food and daily necessities, and when he was bullied, she even spoke up for him.

Cassian was always good to the heroine. After they grew up, he looked after her in every way. Whenever he went out, he brought back her favorite honeyed berries.

But it was all fake.

Cassian was only using the heroine to gather information about the Blackwood Pack.

In secret, he bribed pack elders and gathered warriors. Then, one night, he rebelled and fought his way into the Blackwood territory.

At that time, Mara was the one who suggested to Alpha Rowan that since the heroine and Cassian had grown up together and shared deep feelings, they could use the heroine to force Cassian to withdraw.

In his panic, Alpha Rowan agreed.

Only Luna Evangeline refused.

But Alpha Rowan had made up his mind. He had the heroine tied to the territory’s watchtower to threaten Cassian into retreating.

Cassian only sneered and silver shot the heroine through the shoulder.

Later, Cassian took the Alpha’s seat. He killed the heroine’s entire pack and kept only the heroine alive to torture and vent his hatred.

The poor heroine watched the Cassian who had once been like a brother to her slaughter everyone she loved. To humiliate her, he kept her in his private territory without status, using her for his own pleasure, and he brought Selene in as well.

Selene tormented the heroine in every possible way. She made the heroine fetch water to wash her feet during the day and scrub toilets like a servant.

It was then the heroine discovered she was carrying a pup.

Unfortunately, before she could tell Cassian, Selene found out.

To get rid of the pup, Selene falsely accused the heroine of poisoning her.

Cassian flew into a rage and broke both of the heroine’s legs.

The heroine miscarried and was crippled from then on.

After that, she could not bear it anymore. She went completely mad.

Her body grew weaker day by day. Before she died, her mind became muddled, and her memories returned to puphood.

Cassian finally let go of his hatred and came to see her.

The heroine backed away in terror.

Cassian said urgently, “It’s me, your Cassian.”

The heroine shook her head and cried. “You are not Cassian. Cassian was always the best to me. He would buy me my favorite honeyed berries.”

Cassian was devastated. At last, he regretted treating her so cruelly.

Every day after that, he brought honeyed berries to her.

But the heroine still died of heartbreak and heart failure.

After her death, everyone began to regret.

Cassian posthumously named the heroine his wife and turned white-haired overnight.

Lucian, who had helped Cassian rebel, also hated Cassian for killing the heroine and began opposing him at every turn.

In the rose garden the heroine had loved most, he built her an empty grave.

On it, he carved:

My Beloved Wife, Aurora.

Kael stole the heroine’s remains, carried them with him, and wandered the world.

That was where the plot ended.

The Script said proudly: [Well? The emotional tension is excellent, isn’t it? This is our best novel storyline. Everyone loves it.]

I lowered my eyes and smiled without speaking.

Cassian Nightbane.

He had already earned his death.
