The Alpha’s Daughter Chapter 12

The Alpha’s Daughter Chapter 12

Cassian was crippled and kept in the underground cell.

Selene was placed beside him.

From now on, they could be together properly.

Half a year after I took control of the pack, the former Luna Evangeline urged me to have a pup.

“Men are not important,” she said. “But with a pack this large, you should have a pup of your own to inherit it.”

She was right.

So I found a group of men for the territory.

It did not matter who the father was.

As long as the pup came from my body, that was enough.

Those men came in every kind.

Some were from noble packs. Some were delicate and pitiful, the blush under their eyes especially obvious when they cried.

Some were strong and muscular. Others were refined and gentle.

I could not say I loved any of them deeply, but each of them had something I liked.

When men became consorts, they too began plotting against one another, competing for favor, and growing jealous.

As expected, “woman” was only a position.

I sat high in the chair that represented the head of my pack.

Through the doors, I could see the deep territory territory walls of the territory and the endless land beyond them.

As far as my eyes could reach, it was all territory.

All of it was my pack kingdom.

I said to the Script, “Thank you.”

The Script was silent for a long time. [When did you figure it out?]

“After I took over the pack, I had a dream. In the dream, the so-called novel plot was no longer just a line of words in my mind. It became something I had lived through myself.”

When I woke, it felt like a lifetime had passed.

I finally remembered.

The so-called plot had been my memories all along.

It was the life I had lived before.

The woman betrayed by her guard, abandoned by her fiance, forced to watch her puphood companion slaughter her pack, then used for pleasure, her legs broken, her pup lost, and at last driven mad and terrified until death.

From beginning to end, that woman was me.

And all of it happened only because I was the heroine of a tragedy novel.

The author destroyed everything I had, then gave me a man’s love after my death and called it compensation.

But I was not satisfied.

I could not accept losing everything.

I could not accept dying so miserably.

I could not accept that the entire value of my life existed only for something as light and false as love.

I could not accept it!

What also felt wrong was that I had destroyed nearly every important male character in this novel world, yet the Script had barely said anything.

There had been no real punishment at all.

That was not right.

I asked softly, “Who are you?”

The Script laughed.

“There are gods for all things in this world. I am the god in charge of your world. I was dissatisfied with your ending, so I gave you another chance.”

“The unwillingness you felt before death changed your nature when you returned.”

“I am very pleased with the change.”

I smiled and thanked it again.

“Thank you.”

I did not know what else to say. I could only repeat those words.

Thank you.

My former life had been shattered.

I met the world with kindness, and the world repaid me with endless betrayal.

The love I once longed for was only a castle in the air, and in the end, it dragged me into the abyss.

And yet, in the end, kindness still existed.

A god had taken pity on me.

The Script’s voice continued.

“Live well from now on. I have someone else to help.”

I nodded.

“I will.”

With one last beep, the voice that had accompanied me for so long vanished completely.

The chair beneath me was cold.

I tightened my grip on the armrests.

The pack elders entered from both sides.

“Alpha Aurora.”

My gaze swept across the council room.

Very calmly, I said, “Begin the meeting. What is today’s business?”
