The Alpha’s Daughter Chapter 11

The Alpha’s Daughter Chapter 11

When I saw Cassian again, I had already secured my seat at the head of the pack.

Cassian looked better than I expected.

Even in the underground cell, he was not too disheveled. He still maintained that bit of dignity.

When he saw me, he did not ask me to release him. He only lowered his eyes.

“Aurora, have you been well these days?”

“Not very.”

I was telling the truth. I had killed too many people lately.

Father must have been lonely underground, so I sent Mara down to keep him company.

I came too late. Although Luna Evangeline had helped me place a few people on the council, there were still many opposing voices.

Fortunately, the more I killed, the fewer those voices became.

If I killed a few more, there would be none left.

I did not care how the pack records would describe me.

Killing my father?

A power grab?

All I knew was that history was written by the winners.

Cassian smiled bitterly and reached through the bars to hold my hand.

“You must have suffered so much. For someone as kind and gentle as you to reach this point, it must have been painful. Who forced you? Was it Luna Evangeline?”

He still did not believe I dared seize the pack for myself.

“Aurora.” He looked at me, his eyes full of pity. “I want to help you. I know this burden is too heavy for you. Let me out. I can help.”

I curved my eyes into a smile.

“Yes. Being Alpha is lonely at the top. Why don’t I let you out, Cassian? You can help me be Alpha, all right?”

Cassian paused.

“The rebellion was forced on me. I never cared about that position. But I feel sorry for you. I want to help you.”

His fingers tightened around mine, and his voice carried a restrained urgency.

“If I become Alpha one day, you will be the woman standing beside me. We will share this kingdom.”

“Hahaha.”

I could not hold back my laughter. I wiped tears from the corners of my eyes.

“Cassian, I never realized you were this funny.”

“Actually, I knew long ago that you were going to rebel.”

I leaned closer and whispered, “Do you know why I never exposed you?”

For once, he froze.

Mockery touched my lips.

“Blackwood territory is heavily guarded. Without you, how could I have taken power with only a few thousand men?”

“Thank you for all your years of hard work, helping me seize power.”

Cassian stared at me blankly.

He instinctively took a step back, as if I had suddenly turned into some kind of monster.

I looked at him.

This man behind bars no longer had the arrogant superiority with which he had once possessed and tormented the heroine in the original plot.

He had broken the heroine’s legs, caused her miscarriage, and tortured her to death.

If the first two men were merely scum, then he was worse than a beast.

What had his ending been again?

Oh, right.

He kept countless mates who resembled the heroine and spent the rest of his life mourning her.

How laughable.

I stared hard at Cassian and spoke each word clearly. At last, I was satisfied to see terror shatter in his eyes.

“Someone, cripple him. Keep him in the underground cell.”

Since the central male character could not die in this novel world, then let him live.

Let him live for a very, very long time.

Let him live worse than death.
