The Heiress’s Revenge Chapter 13
Absolute silence.
Every relative. Every guest. Greyson. Jasper. All of them. Staring at my father in shock.
Uncles’ brows furrowed. Aunts covered their mouths. A father forcing his daughter into marriage like this?
My father’s face went gray.
He stared at my phone. He hadn’t seen this coming. The last person who’d openly defied him—his wife—had died in an “accident.”
Greyson shoved past Cole. Closed in on me. “I understand now. Your father forced you. Divorce him. Right now. I’ll marry you—”
He barely finished.
“Greyson.” Skylar’s voice came from the staircase.
She stood on the landing. In a wedding gown. Eyes rimmed red. “Aren’t you… here to marry me?”
Greyson went rigid.
Staring at that blinding white. Then back at me. Stunned.
He finally understood. The “Wentworth daughter” his parents wanted him to marry—was Skylar. He’d been so furious, he’d refused to listen to a single explanation. And now…
The guests were completely lost.
Kieran walked over. Voice heavy. “Thea. Are you serious? You suffered so much in that foster home. After you got adopted, your adoptive parents forced you into everything you hated. Tried to use you to climb. Now you finally made it. The Wentworth heiress. And you’re willing to marry a driver?”
I laughed. So he’d always known what my life was like. Then he also knew—every cent of his elite training, his art education—I’d paid for with my own future. Trading pieces of myself to my adoptive parents.
And he’d enjoyed it all without ever asking the cost. Now he wanted to know if I was willing?
Ridiculous.
