I Was The Perfect Queen But He Forgot My Name Chapter 24
Owen asked hopefully, “If he gets his memory back, will you give him another chance?”
“Yes,” I said.
Tessa whipped her head around to stare at me.
I walked over to the fire basin and pointed at the ashes inside.
“As soon as these turn back into the coat they used to be, Julian and I can go back, too.”
Owen had nothing more to say.
Before spring arrived, Royal Healer Martin Hale finally finished his trip overseas and prepared to return to the capital. He had been close friends with my grandfather for years and had watched Julian grow up.
According to his schedule, he would make it back in time for my independence oath ceremony.
But as Martin’s convoy neared the Ironcliff pack, it was attacked by armed men disguised as rogue wolves, and his tracking signal went dark.
King Arthur sent Julian to lead the rescue operation and wipe out the attackers.
My father mobilized Cedar Ridge’s search teams to help as well.
None of it delayed my ceremony.
That day, the Cedar Ridge estate was full of guests. Stella finished my makeup, then stared at me in the mirror with exaggerated scrutiny.
“Genevieve, today I’ll grudgingly admit it—you’re the prettiest person in the capital.”
I shot back, “Tomorrow, the day after, and every day after that, too.”
We were still bickering when we ran into someone who shouldn’t have been there.
