He Let Me Bleed So I Let Him Go Chapter 26

There was no protectiveness in the gesture, only raw fury.

Bianca staggered back, staring at him in disbelief.

“Dante! I was defending you!”

Dante didn’t look at her.

His gaze was still fixed on Elena, but his voice was tight with a rage he could no longer contain.

“How do you still have the nerve to say any of this?”

“Because of you, I didn’t know Elena was pregnant. I didn’t know she nearly died on an operating table. You deleted the emergency calls from the clinic. You slipped divorce papers into a stack of authorizations for me to sign.”

“If I had known, I would have been at that clinic. I would never have been celebrating with you, and I would never, ever have let her go through that alone.”

Bianca rushed to speak.

“Dante, I—”

“Bianca Ferraro.” He cut her off, his voice like steel. “I saw you as a sister, as an ally. Have you forgotten your place?”

“All these years, you’ve been abusing the access I gave you, haven’t you?”

“No!” Bianca shrieked. “I just love you! What’s so wrong with loving you?”

“She’s the one who couldn’t keep you. She’s the one who didn’t know how to be a Don’s wife. Why is every mistake my fault?”

Dante pressed her, his questions like rapid-fire blows.

Bianca shot back, her answers increasingly hysterical.

Their voices grew sharper, uglier.

Standing there, Elena just felt tired.

She didn’t need to witness this.

She turned to go back into the restaurant.

But Bianca suddenly threw Dante off, her eyes blazing with madness, and charged at her.

“This is all your fault!”

“Why did you have to show up again? You left! You should have disappeared forever! Then, sooner or later, Dante would have been mine!”

Elena stepped back.

At some point, a folding knife had appeared in Bianca’s right hand.

The blade flashed in the sun.

“Die!”
