He Let Me Bleed So I Let Him Go Chapter 25
Dante came to a halt right in front of Elena.
And then he just stood there, frozen.
It was as if, in that exact moment, he finally understood that he no longer had any right to touch her.
“Elena.” His voice was raw. “I’ve been looking for you for so long.”
“Why did you leave without a word? Why didn’t you just tell me?”
He reached a hand toward her shoulder.
Elena took a step back.
Dante’s hand froze in midair, and the light in his eyes seemed to dim.
“Don’t you dare act like you’re the one who was abandoned.”
Elena looked at him, her voice level.
“Didn’t I tell you?”
“When I found out I was pregnant, I sent you a message. After the car accident, the clinic called you. When I was preparing to terminate the pregnancy, I told you to your face.”
“When I was hemorrhaging in surgery, the doctor tried to reach you again and again. Where were you?”
“Dante, I told you everything. You were the one who handed every message about my life over to Bianca, and then went to celebrate your ‘ten-thousandth day’ with her.”
Dante looked as though he were choking.
His face was pale, his lips moved, but no words came out. There was no explanation he could give.
Bianca scrambled to her feet and rushed to stand in front of him.
She positioned herself between Dante and Elena, glaring at Elena with venom in her eyes.
“And what are you, exactly?”
“Is your life about anything other than men? You’re just some engineer from outside the Families. Every little problem had to be brought to the Don, forcing him to stop everything just to take care of you.”
“No wonder you could never hold on to your position.”
The words had barely left her mouth when Dante shoved her aside.
