He Left Me For My Sister Now He Begs For Me Back Chapter 35

In the third month after my wedding, I received my mother’s first long email.

It was six pages.

The first two detailed how my sister was struggling at the rehabilitation center, how Sebastian was insisting on the divorce, and how the Pack registry had already approved their separation. My mother wrote that she pitied her.

The third page mentioned that my brother’s transfer had been delayed due to the internal Royal Council review of the bridge incident.

The fourth said my father’s health had been poor.

On the fifth page, my mother finally wrote about me.

She asked how the Westmoor Pack was treating me. If I was eating well. If Gavin had taken me to the new dessert shop on West Street.

At the very end, she wrote:

*Adeline, lately I keep dreaming of you as a child. You used to cling to my leg and beg for hugs. When did you stop doing that?*

I stared at the screen for a long time.

When Gavin came in, he saw me holding my tablet but didn’t ask what I was reading. He simply set a bag of roasted chestnuts on the table.

“Picked them up on the way back.”

I took one.

It was very sweet.

He sat down beside me.

“Do you want to go back to the capital?”

I shook my head.

“No.”

“Then don’t.”

“You’re not going to ask what the email said?”

He considered it.

“You’ll tell me when you want to.”

I smiled and hit the delete button.
