He Left Me For My Sister Now He Begs For Me Back Chapter 36

Six months later, I saw Sebastian again.

Gavin was at the border training base, and I had accompanied Clara to an event at the northern royal medical foundation.

As we were leaving, I saw him standing at the bottom of the steps.

In half a year, he had become almost unrecognizable.

He, who had always cared so much about appearances, now had wrinkled cuffs and a tired, dim scent to his wolf.

When he saw me, his eyes instantly turned red.

Clara glanced at me.

“Do you know him?”

I nodded.

“I used to.”

*Used to.*

Sebastian heard it, too, and his face crumbled.

He walked toward us but stopped a few feet away.

“Adeline, I just wanted to see you.”

Clara frowned.

I said to her, “Mother, could you wait for me in the car?”

She looked uneasy, but she nodded and left with two of the Westmoor guards.

Sebastian watched her go and gave a bitter smile.

“You call her Mother now.”

I didn’t understand why that would matter to him.

“It’s only right.”

He lowered his head.

“Victoria left the rehabilitation center.”

I froze.

“Where did she go?”

“I don’t know. After our relationship was formally dissolved, she stayed at your family’s home for a few months. Margaret tried to arrange a new life for her, but everyone in the capital knows what she did. No one suitable was willing to enter a relationship with her. Then she just left a note and disappeared, taking what jewelry and cash she had access to.”

Sebastian added, “Your mother was sick for a while after.”

I nodded.

He suddenly grew agitated.

“You’re not upset?”

I was quiet for a moment.

“I hope she’s safe.”

It was the truth.

Anything more than that, I no longer had to give.

Sebastian looked at me, his expression complicated.

“You really have changed.”

I smiled.

“You all keep saying that.”
