He Left Me For My Sister Now He Begs For Me Back Chapter 37

He suddenly asked, “Does Gavin treat you well?”

“Very well.”

“Better than I did?”

The question was childish, but I answered it anyway.

“Yes. Better than you.”

His face went white.

I wasn’t trying to hurt him. I was just stating a fact.

In a low voice, he said, “If I hadn’t changed the engagement back then…”

I cut him off.

“Sebastian, there is no ‘if.’”

He fell silent.

I looked down the steps.

A Westmoor Pack SUV was waiting, the door marked with the emblem of an eagle with its wings spread wide.

It was the Pack’s border insignia, one Gavin had chosen himself.

I’d teased him about it, saying the eagle was ugly, but he insisted it looked intimidating.

Thinking of it now, I couldn’t help but smile.

Sebastian saw my expression, and his voice went rough.

“You were thinking of him?”

“Yes.”

The last flicker of light in his eyes died.

After a long moment, he asked, “Do you really not love me at all anymore?”

I thought about it seriously.

“I don’t.”

He lowered his head.

I stepped past him and started down the stairs.

After a few steps, I heard him say my name from behind me.

“Adeline.”

I didn’t turn around.

“I’m sorry.”

The mountain wind blew past, stirring the leaves with a soft rustle.

I kept walking.

Some apologies come too late.

Hearing them is enough. You don’t have to turn back.
