The Prince Let Me Die Now He Begs For My Love Chapter 13

“What, am I ugly?”

Gavin looked at my face, and his breath hitched for a second.

“No.”

“Then is my background that bad?”

“You’re the daughter of Cedarbrook Pack’s Alpha. How could it be bad?”

“And my personality?”

This time, he fell silent.

Through clenched teeth, he said, “Very good.”

“I’ve never met a woman like you in my life.”

“Then what’s the problem?”

I took his hand and laced our fingers together.

“When we get married, we’ll just live happily.”

“You can manage the ports and the company. I’ll stay home and help you count the money. We’ll travel everywhere and eat delicious food. If there’s any problem we can’t solve, we’ll go ask Dominic for help.”

“But let me warn you first.”

“If you treat me badly, or get tangled up with other women, I’ll tie you up and use you as a punching bag.”

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Adrian walking toward us along the lakeside path.

He happened to hear that last sentence.

His steps stopped dead.

The paper bag of fish food in his hand fell to the ground.

The soft rustle startled us.

I saw his pale face, and my body moved before my mind did. I ducked behind the ornamental wall.

Gavin glanced at me, then shifted one step to the side, completely blocking me from view.

The evening wind carried across the lake.

Adrian’s voice was clear.

“You’re the only one here?”

Gavin smiled.

“Of course.”

Then, after a pause, he asked, “Adrian, what’s wrong? You look terrible.”

The air stayed silent for a long time.

Adrian gave a faint shake of his head.

“It’s nothing.”

“I must have misheard.”
