The Prince Let Me Die Now He Begs For My Love Chapter 19
With a perfectly serious face, he told me,
“The Mercer family has a rule. If we agree to something, we follow through.”
“You hugged me, so from now on I can only hug you. You kissed me, so from now on only you get to kiss me.”
“Otherwise, Dominic will freeze my bank cards and send me to the port warehouses to haul cargo crates for a full year.”
I stared at him for several seconds before realizing he was teasing me.
“But what about Adrian?”
The smile on Gavin’s face faded.
“Do you still like him?”
I shook my head at once.
He gave a cold laugh.
“He used Alpha pressure on you, forced you to kneel under the blazing sun for three hours without even asking what really happened, and he still thinks he has the right to have you?”
“Queen Helena doesn’t have only one son. And the order of succession isn’t set in stone.”
That sentence was far too dangerous.
I jumped and clapped a hand over his mouth at once.
On the drive back, I curled up in the rear seat and thought it over and over.
Adrian had been confirmed as first heir at the age of three. That was more than twenty years ago.
I was his cousin’s fiancée.
The Mercers did not hold Pack territory, but Mercer Logistics handled most of the Crown’s transport of port, medical, and security supplies.
Dominic held his own seat on the Royal Council and maintained strong ties with multiple Pack delegates.
Adrian’s hold on the heir’s position rested on King Cedric’s approval, the Royal Council’s support, and the trust of the Packs.
Losing all of that for my sake would not be worth it.
Thinking that through, I finally relaxed a little.
I shifted into a more comfortable position and closed my eyes to rest.
I didn’t know how much time had passed when the car stopped.
Still half asleep, I pushed open the door.
The moment I saw the stone wall, the glass entrance, and the Royal Guard stationed outside, my whole body froze.
This wasn’t my home.
It was Prince Adrian’s private wing at Royal Castle.
