His 47 Seconds Of Silence Cost Him Everything Chapter 24

“Yes.”

“Did you see blood after she fell?”

Linda closed her eyes.

“Yes.”

“Why didn’t you call for help immediately?”

“I thought she was trying to… ruin the mood again.”

The last words were barely a whisper.

Mark voluntarily submitted a summary of his therapy records.

He admitted that, in order not to offend Cassidy, he had long treated sacrificing me as the path of least resistance.

Evan didn’t try to defend himself either.

He confirmed that he had written the public apology himself, that the group chat records were not fabricated, and that the videos on the family cloud had been filmed by all of them together.

Cassidy shot to her feet.

“Why is everything my fault? Every one of you laughed!”

“I never said it was only your fault,” Evan said, looking at her. “That’s why I’m admitting my part in it.”

“You’re only admitting it because you still want Mara back!”

“She’s not coming back.”

When he said that, he did not look at me.

“I’m testifying because it’s the truth.”

At last, they were no longer protecting the polished image of their “model family.”

Cassidy accused Evan of enabling her. Evan admitted his complicity. Linda cried and said Cassidy had threatened her with visitation, but Mark admitted in open court that they had simply chosen the most convenient sacrifice.

From beginning to end, I did not have to argue.

Because every unedited clip on that USB drive was speaking for the version of me who had once been forced into silence.

Before the hearing ended, the judge found that Cassidy had knowingly violated the image injunction and had refused to comply with the previously ordered psychological evaluation.

Her contact with Jude was temporarily reduced to supervised visitation.

All account content involving Jude had to be deleted, and her devices and cloud accounts would remain under court preservation.

When Cassidy heard the ruling, she finally broke down.

“Without my accounts, how am I supposed to make a living?”

The judge looked up from his notes.

“Your child is not your source of income.”

In her livestream, she had used almost the same line against me.

*I’m his mother. Why shouldn’t I be allowed to share my own child?*

Now, the court had given its answer.

Because a child is not a prop.

And no one’s fear and tears should be, either.
