Evan sat in the witness chair, his face ashen.
“I did not.”
“You said she was just trying to use a baby to trap you!”
“I never said that.”
“Then why did you help me plan the test? Wasn’t that your message in the chat, saying we should make her really think something happened?”
The courtroom went still.
In her rush to throw blame onto Evan, she had personally authenticated the group chat and confirmed that what she called an accident had been staged from the very beginning.
