My Wedding Dress In The Garage His Widow In My Home Chapter 10

Before leaving work on Friday, Lena tapped on the edge of Nora’s desk.

“Milwaukee Art Museum this weekend. Interested?”

Nora glanced at her calendar and smiled. “Definitely. Saturday?”

That evening, after a shower, she curled up on the couch in her new apartment and started sorting through the photos on her phone. One by one, they slid past, until she landed on her engagement picture with Owen.

She didn’t delete it.

Nora selected all the old photos, compressed and encrypted them, then moved the file into a folder she named “Archive.”

The past had happened.

It just didn’t need to take up any more space in the life she was building.

At the same time, Owen sat in a coffee shop near their old apartment, waiting for Paige.

He didn’t bother with small talk.

“Did you put Nora’s wedding dress in the garage on purpose?”

Paige’s face stiffened for a split second before a smile replaced it.

“Of course not. It must have gotten moved by mistake when we were making space. I had no idea.”

As she spoke, she kept brushing the hair back from the right side of her face.

Owen watched her, his expression unreadable.

Every time Paige lied, she touched her hair just like that.

From the wedding dress to the study to the first floor of the new house, she had been systematically pushing Nora out from the very beginning. And he hadn’t just seen it—he had made excuses for her every single time.

“I know.”

Owen stood, paid the bill, and walked out without waiting for another explanation.

Paige chased him out of the coffee shop and grabbed his arm.

“Do you regret it?” she demanded, her eyes red. “Do you regret giving up the home we could have had, all for her?”
