He Moved His Lover In I Moved My Money Out Chapter 05
The house went dead silent.
I took a picture of the plaque and held the phone up in front of Graham.
“Is this your six-week temporary stay, too?”
His expression changed completely. For the first time, he looked rattled.
“It was a joke. Nora, I meant it as a surprise. We can change the plaque—”
Claire lightly tugged at his sleeve.
“Graham… didn’t you tell me this house was always meant to be a surprise for me and Owen?”
“Shut up!”
The words exploded out of him.
He reached for me. “Nora, listen to me. Let me explain.”
I shook him off and dialed 911.
“I need the police. There are people illegally occupying my property and refusing to leave.”
Graham froze. “Nora, are you out of your mind?”
I opened the copy of the temporary property injunction my lawyer had just sent, then took the divorce papers from my bag and threw them at his feet.
“Sign. Waive all rights to my premarital property and return the six hundred thousand dollars in renovation funds taken from our joint accounts and my inheritance.”
In the distance, sirens were already wailing.
I stepped back toward the doorway and looked at them coldly.
“Illegal trespass or asset fraud. You can decide which one you want to explain to the police.”
