He Moved His Lover In I Moved My Money Out Chapter 04

The night I moved into the hotel, Eleanor’s call came.

“Moving out before the anniversary dinner has put the Whitmore family in a very difficult position.”

“The divorce process has started.”

Her voice shot up. “Divorce? Over something this trivial? You’re being unbelievably immature. With a temperament like that, how could you ever be the woman of the Whitmore family?”

“Then you should find someone else.”

I hung up.

The next day, Graham actually showed up at my studio with Claire.

“Calmed down yet?” he asked, his tone lofty.

Claire’s eyes were red-rimmed. In her hand was a Fendi Casa gift box.

“Nora, I’m so sorry. Please don’t fight with Graham because of me. I’ll move out next week.”

Just then, my phone lit up.

My lawyer had found something: four months ago, a symbolic thirty-year lease had been signed for the Newport property.

The tenant was Claire.

Claire caught a glimpse of the screen, and her face went white.

“Graham, I thought she knew…”

Graham stepped in front of her at once.

“So now you’re playing detective and investigating your own family?”

I ignored him and simply picked up my car keys.

“I’m going to Newport to get something.”

They followed me all the way there.

I walked to the fireplace, removed the decorative panel, and opened the memory box hidden inside the wall—the one I had designed myself.

My wedding vows weren’t inside.

There was only a copper plaque, long since installed.

In elegant lettering, it read:

“For Claire and Owen. The home you should have had.”
