You Shipped Me Off I Married Your Boss Chapter 07

Everyone followed.

But just past the garden, Natalie called out softly.

“Brian.”

Natalie wore an Oscar de la Renta silk gown. Stunning.

Hair woven into an elegant French braid, makeup understated.

The ceremony was at six. Hours away.

Natalie was anxious, but her face showed nothing.

“What are you doing here?”

Brian stopped. His eyes settled on her.

Natalie was beautiful.

The kind that made men want to protect her.

So different from Skylar’s wildness.

Natalie came from a single-parent home. Worked in restaurants to pay for school.

She was soft-spoken. Fragile.

When he met her, Skylar had been giving him hell.

Natalie’s quiet gentleness had been a relief.

And unlike the others who threw themselves at him, his relationship with Natalie started with a rescue.

That night, she’d been cornered by a group of thugs outside the restaurant where she worked. He’d been passing by and stepped in.

Every man had that hero fantasy.

So Natalie was different. Not like the ones before.

“I heard Skylar’s back…”

Natalie’s voice broke before she could finish.

Her eyes glistened.

“I’m scared.”

She bit her lip, looking down.

“Brian. What if we can’t go through with the ceremony today?”

“Don’t think like that.”

Brian gripped her shoulder, squeezed gently.

“Let me handle it.”

But she caught his sleeve.

“Brian. I’m afraid. Afraid you’ll go with her…”

Tears spilled down her cheeks.

She looked so delicate standing there. Like she might shatter.

“How could he, Natalie?”

Madison’s smile was pure satisfaction.

“My brother doesn’t love Skylar. She’s bossy. Spoiled. Throws tantrums whenever she wants. He can’t stand her. Why would he ever leave with her?”

She’d always hated Skylar.

After the Crawfords took her in, the aunt and uncle who’d once doted on Madison put Skylar first.

They said it was for appearances. That a ward had to be treated even better.

But Madison despised her anyway.

For years, her greatest joy had been watching Skylar humiliate herself.

Now Skylar was getting shipped off to Chicago.

Barely anyone saw her off.

Her bags had been packed and sent ahead two weeks ago, like they couldn’t get rid of her fast enough.

Madison was thrilled.

She’d support any cousin-in-law. As long as it wasn’t Skylar.
