You Shipped Me Off I Married Your Boss Chapter 13
He hung up.
Rage. Shame. My face burned hot.
How did I give him that brooch?
Prom night.
We’d both been drunk.
Third floor of the Crawford estate. My bedroom.
He’d had me pressed against the door, kissing me so deep I could barely stand.
He was worked up.
But he stopped himself.
When he turned to leave, I called him back.
I pressed the brooch into his hand.
I told him what it meant.
He said nothing. But he took it.
And that was enough. Enough for me to believe he’d accepted my feelings.
These last few years were a nightmare. I’d woken up now.
I just wanted to cut every last tie.
I thought Brian would be thrilled. Toss the brooch back like garbage.
Never imagined he’d say this.
And now I understood.
The foolishness of youth always comes with a price.
If the brooch didn’t carry that meaning, I wouldn’t even ask for it back.
But I was about to marry someone else.
Leaving it with Brian wasn’t fair to Liam.
