I Gave The Prince To My Sister And Found My True Mate Chapter 06
Later, my mother came to the Royal Castle.
I clutched at her sleeve like a drowning person grabbing the last piece of driftwood.
“Mother, Lucian betrayed me. He’s always loved Rosalie. He only married me because—”
She shook off my hand violently.
“How much longer are you going to cause a scene?”
I froze.
“Rosalie lost her husband, and the Lakeshore Pack threw her out. You’re her sister. Can’t you yield to her just this once?”
She stared at me, her eyes full of disgust.
“You’re so jealous, so lacking in compassion. In what way are you better than her?”
It felt like a hand had closed around my throat, and no sound came out.
Yield. Again.
When I was little, it was food, clothes, training opportunities, and my parents’ love.
Now even my mate and my royal status had to be yielded, too.
They didn’t blame Rosalie for destroying my marriage.
They blamed me for crying, for fighting, for making the daughter they cherished most feel ashamed.
Not long after, Rosalie’s pregnancy was confirmed.
Lucian suppressed the Royal Council’s objections, publicly stripping me of my position as Luna Queen and my royal claim, then moving me to the west residence under guard.
On the grounds that I had failed to bear an heir for years, he announced that Rosalie would become the new official royal wife.
The kingdom could have only one Luna Queen.
So before Rosalie could enter the palace’s main wing, I had to be removed from that position.
My phone access, vehicle clearance, and pass to the main section of the Royal Castle all expired in the same minute.
Both my mother and father submitted statements of support to the Council.
The entire staff knelt or stood along the corridors, too frightened to raise their heads.
And yet I was unnervingly calm.
I didn’t fight anymore, and I didn’t ask why.
On the day Rosalie held her public move-in ceremony, I poured concentrated aconite into a hot drink and tipped it back.
The aconite burned down my throat, suppressing my wolf and cutting off my healing.
As my consciousness blurred, the door was thrown open.
I saw Lucian rushing toward me. His eyes flared red, the composure on his face shattering completely for the first time.
Then everything went black.
